Store Your Digital Camera Safely
There is going to come a time when you are going to have to leave your digital camera package at home or in storage. There are few things you can do to make sure you don’t cause any damage to your equipment.
Seek out areas of storage that won’t overheat your camera. You should avoid placing it near any electronic magnetic fields, this can seriously damage your camera. It also hurts your LCD and inside components.
It’s best to look for areas to park your equipment in dark cool temperature areas. Direct sunlight or a well lit room that is producing direct light on your camera can eventually ruin it. Your camera case could also be in danger too.
Length Of Time
If you know you will be away for a month or so, then place your camera in a tightly sealed plastic bag. It’s a good idea to put inside a moisture absorbing lubricate to stop any humidity damage. The place of storage should be dry and not bumping around your camera at all. This also helps to avoid any mildew that can build up on your components and lens.
Check The Function
It’s been noted and recommended to turn your camera on at least once a month if it will be sitting for a while. Most digital camera packages will have a some kind of guide on what you should do during its inactivity. It’s also recommended to change your interchangeable lens.
